How long does molly stay in your system?
Exercising until you collapse from exhaustion or chugging water until you vomit won’t cause the molly to magically leave your system immediately, instead it’ll likely just make you feel crappy. In fact, drinking massive amounts of water can actually cause serious health issues. Two low-risk ways to potentially get molly out of your system faster are drinking water and exercising. MDMA is water-soluble so both these activities will help flush water (as well as toxins) out of your body so the molly leaves your system faster.
Getting Up to Speed on Molly
A person who takes molly in tablet or capsule form may begin to feel the effects after around 45 minutes. Some tests can detect molly for only a day or two after a person has taken the drug. Contrary to what many advertised drug tests might promise, not all substances leave their telltale chemical signature in the body for the same amount of time. People may start to feel the effects of molly around 20 minutes to one hour after taking it. Taking multiple doses over a period of several hours can lengthen the detection window. There are several reasons why an individual may be tested for ecstasy (MDMA).
Molly Detection Time In Urine
- If a half life of 8 to 9 hours is more accurate, it could take over 2 days for the drug to be completely eliminated from your body.
- When a person takes molly orally, the drug makes its way into the stomach before moving to the intestines.
- The liver metabolizes the drug, and the kidneys excrete most of it through urine.
- The metabolism of molly begins in the stomach, after ingesting a pill.
Ability to detect MDMA on a saliva test is easiest between 1.5 and 4 hours after ingestion and more difficult between 6 and 10 hours post-ingestion. Saliva tests are most commonly administered by law enforcement agents when they suspect an individual may have ingested ecstasy. Most users will have cleared it from their system within 3 days (72 hours) of ingestion. That said, if an individual has urine with a high alkalinity, it may remain in their system for even longer than 3 days. Furthermore, if the testing aims to detect the presence of HMMA (an MDMA metabolite with a longer half life), an individual could test “positive” from a urine sample for 4-5 days.
How long does molly take to break down (metabolize)?
Molly, a slang term short for “molecular,” typically refers to the powdered form of pure MDMA. Ecstasy typically refers to MDMA that has been pressed into a tablet and mixed, or “cut,” with other prescription or illicit drugs. However, Molly has also been found to be commonly mixed with other addictive drugs. AddictionResource aims to present the most accurate, trustworthy, and up-to-date medical content to our readers.
How Long Does Ecstasy (MDMA) Stay In Your System?
First, MDMA is chemically similar enough to both amphetamines and methamphetamines that it can cause positive test results for both those drugs. Also, many molly capsules are laced with other types of drugs which can cause you to test positive on a drug test, whether it’s an MDMA drug test or a standard drug test. Although there is some debate on whether Molly is addictive, researchers do know that MDMA targets the same chemicals in the brain as other drugs that are addictive.
Getting Help For Molly Abuse
MDMA, also known as molly or ecstasy, can be detected through various drug tests, including urine screenings. Being a chronic user of molly may result in a longer detection window. Most standard drug tests may not be able to detect the presence of MDMA (ecstasy). However, comprehensive drug tests will be able to detect whether an individual has remained free from all drugs. Advanced drug tests can detect the presence of MDMA, and in the future may be able to detect the presence of HMMA (a metabolite that remains in the system for ~3 days). This allows it to pass through the blood-brain barrier, a membrane that protects the brain from certain compounds that are unhealthy.
Exercising after taking molly can lead to dehydration, which can increase liquid consumption. Molly also affects your heart’s ability to pump blood, which poses risks during exercise. A drug’s half-life is the time it takes for the amount of the drug in a person’s system to reduce by half. However, some samples can still show the presence of molly’s metabolites on days 5 and 6 after ingestion. Some people take another dose as the effects of the initial dose fade, prolonging the drug high. When ecstasy pills or capsules are combined with other substances, it can affect how long it stays in your system and how long an illegal drug may be detected on a drug screening test. After that time, half of the drug has been cleared from your system.
Furthermore, it is thought that when an individual goes to bed at night, metabolism of MDMA may slow. If a bulk of the drug isn’t metabolized as an individual falls asleep – it could prolong clearance. The amount of ecstasy a person takes is subject to significant individual variation. On average, users ingest between 10 mg to 150 mg of MDMA taken in a series of pills to prolong the effects. In most cases, a regular ecstasy user will take between 50 mg and 700 mg of MDMA per night at an event such as a rave, concert, or party. It’s important that you drink water and not coffee or soft drinks (and definitely not energy drinks) since they contain caffeine and will actually dehydrate you more.
It’s not advised to take any supplements to avoid hazardous side effects. It is not possible to speed up the metabolization process of molly, and some methods that claim to do so can be dangerous. Traces of these metabolites are what drug testers look for, since they’re a good indication that someone has actually used a drug rather than merely come into accidental contact with it.
